You pick out the book together.
You settle in for a story.
You get "some more, some more"
only to find out your child hasn't listened to the thing you just read or has any idea about the story or the characters.
instead she has made up a new nonsensicle song and then wants to know when we are getting dog.
22 pages read, absolutely no comprehension.
and wants another story before tuck in.
I'm very frustrated.

you could beat them with the book and see if they remember any of it. Or you just do your normal and leave it at that. Your routine is pretty solid so don't much with the system!!!
